When more than one language is installed and "Clients may choose their language" is on, the footer of every public and client page has a language menu. The choice is kept in the browser for a year; for a signed-in person it is also saved on their account, so it follows them to another browser. Account Details has the same choice as a Language field, with the note that it is the language of the pages and of the emails sent to the account. A new client's account takes the language the pages were in when they registered. Without the setting, every visitor sees the default language from General Settings, Localisation. See Languages for installing languages.
